Survivor: Cook Islands - Episode Five

by @ 7:59 pm. Filed under Survivor

Well, missed survivor last week, sorry about that - well, no, I’m not, because I was on some of the similar pristine beaches that the survivors were on in the carribean. Grand Turk - Nassau - Half Moon Cay (Carnival’s private island) - so I can’t say I’m sorry for missing last week.

We start out with Cao Boi rubbing people the wrong way by wanting to take the immunity idol to the reward challenge. Others feel that it is rubbing it into the other team’s face, while Coi Boi thinks it is good luck to take it there.

The reward challenge is actually something more, however - first, the challenge is that the three members are holding on to the post, while two members from the opposing team has to pull them off the post and DRAG them across their finish line. Aitu makes the first one across while the raro team fights HARD to stay off that line. Two down for Aitu while Raro barely got their first across the line. It’s come down to a cat fight at the Raro side…but it’s not enough - Aitu wins by pulling the third person across the line - but it’s not all celebratory…

BOTH tribes will go to tribal council tonight - Iatu will go first, and vote someone out - and while Raro goes to tribal council, Iatu will sit an feast while listening to their opponents tribal council. Jeff also mentions that there will be yet another surprise when they go to council - cant even start to imagine what that is - although I notice that no one was sent to exile island.

The game now over Aitu is to force the play of the immunity idol, while voting out the person they want gone - so they have to conspire to give the most votes to Jonathan (who they THINK has the idol) while giving Candice the second amount of votes. Little does Cao Boi know that Yul has the idol.

Now Aitu goes to council. Cao Boi brings the idol with him (although it’s not needed) and declares it as a member of the tribe. Yul describes Cao Boi as a mixture of shaman, leader, fire tender - and he makes it known that they intend to expose the individual immunity idol tonight - still ignorant of where it is, thinking that Jonathan has it - what surprise is going to happen when they find out that he doesn’t have it to play. Now the votes for Aitu: Cao Boi, Candice, jonathan, Cao Boi, Cao boi, Sixth person voted out of Survivor: Cook Island - Cao Boi :survivor: - well, that one didn’t go as plan.

So now Aitu gets to sit and feast while Raro goes to council. Aitu is eating on lamb shanks while watching and listening to Raro go to council. It is clear that there is a lot of discord in Raro. For the surprise, Aitu gets to “kidnap” one member of Raro, who will eat with them, go back to camp with them, and stay with them through the next reward challenge. They chose Nate to come over with them. Now for the Raro Vote: (Aitu doesn’t get to see the results of the vote) Jenny, Christina, Jenny, Christina, Christina, Seventh person voted out of Survivor: Cook Island - Christina :survivor:

So Raro, despite having been on a major loosing streak, is now weakened by the loss of Nate in the next challenge, and their tribe continues to shrink. It’s been a night of attrition for both tribes, but they will have to bounce back from this and move forward if they continue to want to win. The loss of Cao Boi may be done a lot for tribe morale, the loss of Nate temporarily hinders Raro, and they have to deal at Aitu with him being there, seeing the workings of their tribe - where will it go from there? Who knows? It’s not been a real exciting Survivor so far, but the potential is there for this to still grow into an exciting game - will it?

Survivor: Cook Islands - Episode THREE

by @ 7:03 pm. Filed under Survivor

Todays episode starts out almost immediately with a challenge - a rope challenge where they have to follow the rope through an obstacle course, and each member has to go through the course connected to the rope. At the end of that was a puzzle to be solved, and in the end aitu won the challenge with blankets and pillows, and sent Adam to exile island.

So now we move to the tribes and the various relationships that are forming - partnerships working out - and focusing right now on Nate and Parvati and Nate saying that he can see sparks coming from this, but he wouldn’t be stupid about it

Today’s immunity challenge is another multi-facet challenge. First, they have to put a puzzle together to form a stretcher - then take that stretcher through the jungle to pick up a tribe member who is shackled to a pole in the water - they have to bring them back through the jungle to a designated spot and then buld a signal fire to “warm” them. At the half way point, Aitu has a smal, but significant lead…that is until it comes to making Fire. They start to catch up, but Aitu manages to make fire before Raro can even manage to make a significant spark, taking themselves home, and sending Raro to council tonight.

So now it’s time to decide who will be going home - Stephanie, who was charged with making the fire in the immunity event, came out and said that loosing the challenge was her responsibility and for the others to send her home.

But that is not the consensus that is going around - the other girls want to get rid of JP instead. They’ve made their choice and are recruiting others to join them in this endeavor. At council, it’s a standard question of who does what and who isn’t pulling their load. ..which everyone can’t agree of who is doing what to keep the camp running…now the vote: Stephanie, JP, Stephanie, JP, JP, JP, and the fourth person voted off Cook Islands…JP:survivor:…and he doesn’t go off gracefully.

so there it is. I know it’s short this week - getting ready to go out of town on a trip and my my gang wasn’t over tonight. Not that it was that great of a night on survivor - we still have a few weeks before it really starts getting interesting.

No blog next week, unless, of course, I can get a friend to blog for me in my absence…I’m hoping she will.

until then…
